If we disagree politically it’s probably because we disagree biblically. This is a much more alarming issue to me because that means you’re not a believer in Jesus Christ and I won’t see you with me in Heaven! And I want to see you in Heaven, regardless of your politics! Honestly, I couldn’t care less about our political differences because that’s all fading away. In fact, when Jesus does return, nothing else will matter.
So my question for you is this: why aren’t you a Christian? Please understand I’m not trying to debate you nor am I trying to preach to you. I am genuinely curious. You are free to answer, if you’d like, but I suspect most will not. So let me say this. Most every skeptic who has done honest research on why we believe what we believe has become a believer him or her self! That is partly because the evidence truly is overwhelming. The other reason becomes impossible to deny: the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. I know, the skeptic in you just popped up with that statement. The Bible teaches that God is one person in three persons; God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. We sometimes refer to Him as our “Triune God”. The Holy Spirit actually dwells within us, guiding and helping us. So you see where that comes from. You can ask anyone who’s been through it and they will all tell you the same thing. Somewhere along the way in their research, the evidence became too overwhelming to ignore. They found they knew it was true way down deep in their core. That’s the Holy Spirit working inside you!
And now I challenge you. There are several great books to get you started to find out why we believe what we believe. I will suggest one, “The Case for Christ” by award-winning legal editor of the Chicago Tribune and a spiritual skeptic (until 1981), Lee Strobel. Whether or not Lee convinces you of what he found to be true, the book is a great read! And know that I am praying that God gives you the wisdom and discernment to take an honest look at why we believe what we believe. 🙏🏻
